Sweeney arrived in this world during the hurricane of October 1987. She was diagnosed as dyslexic at the age of 4 whilst living abroad in Colombia. She struggled during her school years but thrived later on in an artistic environment. After leaving school at 16 she went to College to study beauty and photography. She worked in the film industry as an full time SA (extra and starred in many feature films, popular soaps and advertisements. She was known affectionately as 'Sweeney' by directors & actors alike.

Wherever Sweeney went, funny incidents followed her. After one such event someone suggested that she should write a book about her life. For someone who never reads a book this seemed like a huge thing for a dyslexic person, who can't spell, to do. Sweeney incorporated her misspellings into her book, to draw out the humour and to realise that 'oh what the hell, I can't spell but I can write a book'.
